Finding is not tracking
Reading messages to spot a commitment costs money and can pause. Tracking one — the clock, the nudge, the Tracked list — costs a timer and never stops. We keep the two separate in the product and in how we talk about it, because telling somebody the wrong thing stopped is how trust goes.
Say the uncomfortable part plainly
Scoop is not end-to-end encrypted, and we never imply otherwise: a server has to read your messages for any of this to work. What we can promise is restraint — we keep the people you actually connect with, not your address book, and we don't record where you were when you sent a message.
It must work on a cheap phone
The people making these promises are on entry-level Android handsets with patchy signal, in a shed or on a site. If it only works on a fast phone and good bandwidth, it doesn't work.
